Team Malibu's Jaquess Finalist for Sullivan Award

Team Malibu Boats (@MalibuBoats) newest World Record-breaker, Regina Jaquess, is making history again as a 2010 AAU Sullivan Award finalist. This professional water skier was named as a semifinalist for the AAU Sullivan award last month and we just heard that she made it to the top five. Regina is flying to New York where she will join 4 other finalists, including Heisman winner Cam Newton, for the presentation ceremony on March 14th.

The AAU Sullivan Award is one of the most prestigious awards an amateur athlete can win and it is held annually at the New York Athletic Club. It has been won by such well known athletes as Shawn Johnson, Michael Phelps, Sarah Hughes and more. Malibu Boats is extremely proud that Regina is getting the recognition she deserves as an exemplary athlete and the chance to join such an elite list of competitors.

Known as the "Oscar" of sports awards, and older than The Heisman, the AAU Sullivan Award honors the outstanding amateur athlete in the United States. It has been presented annually by the AAU since 1930 as a salute to founder and past president of the Amateur Athletic Union, and a pioneer in amateur sports, James E. Sullivan. Based on the qualities of leadership, character, sportsmanship, and the ideals of amateurism, the AAU Sullivan Award goes far beyond athletic accomplishments and honors those who have shown strong moral character.

We're pulling for you Regina! Good luck!
