Malibu Owners Shine At Worlds

A big congrats goes out to all our dedicated Malibu owners, whose hard work paid off at the 2011 WWA Worlds! All of these riders have been working hard all summer and share the same common bond of our Malibu lifestyle. Read below for your chance to be recognized in the Malibu family!

Cory Teunissen -- 1st Place -- Boys Division (10-13)

What a year for Australia's Cory Teunissen, who not only won the Boys Division at Worlds, but also took home 1st at Australia's Queensland State Championships as well as 1st at the Australian Nationals. He also came in 2nd at the International Wakeboard Association Championships in Milan, Italy. Cory rides at home with his father Jeff, who owns a pair of Wakesetters in Australia. Congrats!

Shelby King -- 3rd Place -- Girls Division

With help from her father, Shawn King (also a Malibu owner), Shelby had a clean run, landing in 3rd place in the Girls Division. Watch her ride online at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eZNsiwrSu4

Mitch Kappler -- 3rd Place -- Boys Division (10-13)

Kappler, the only 10-year-old in the division rallied up to third place. His riding back home definitely paid off, supported by his father Brent, mother Renee and older brother Jake.

Hunter Henderson -- 1st Place -- Jr. Boys Division

9-year-old Hunter Henderson, fresh off his Wake Games victory in May, took first in Jr. Boys at Worlds. His home riding on Lake Wylie in the Carolina's definitely paid off behind his Wakesetter 24/7. He also has been riding with Cobe and Tarah Mikacich behind their V-Ride while in Orlando. Keep it rolling, Hunter!

If you are a Malibu owner who is proud of your accomplishments, please e-mail kevco@kevcomedia.com. Whether you performed well at a contest, filmed a new trick or just want to submit cool photos from your day on the lake, this is your chance!

Malibu Boat Gone to the Dogs

Malibu Boats (@MalibuBoats) Orlando, FL Dealer Liquid Sports Marine sent us this photo over the weekend. They provided several great descriptions that were sure to earn it a place on Malibu Boats web sites.

Check out these K-9 Malibu enthusiast watching team rider Phil Soven getting huge air at a recent wakeboard contest!

Now that's a Mali-view!!

These bow riding bow-wows belong to the owners of Liquid Sports Marine, Mark and Teressa Watts. The black German Shepherd up front is Kaos. The other 2 are brother and sister named Bella and Jaxon. They are all German Shepherds and as you can see they love riding in the boat.

We just think the photo is "Ooooooooooutstanding!" Ha! Thanks for sharing Teressa and Mark.

Malibu Open Title - Best Birthday Gift Ever

Team Malibu Boats (@MalibuBoats) pro slalom skier Will Asher (@WillAsher) defeated Jamie Beauchesne at the Malibu Open in Milwaukee, WI over the weekend with a score of 3 buoys at 41 feet off. Beauchesne finished second with 2 buoys at 41 feet off in, some are saying, the most exciting head-to-head finale ever.

Asher had a rough start to the event, not performing the way he wanted on Friday. Skiing behind the new 2012 Malibu Response TXi, he was undeterred by his shaky beginning and returned to the Veteran's Park Lagoon on Saturday with renewed confidence. He was having fun and he had a kind of swagger that told the Milwaukee crowd this was going to be a special day. In fact, the day was special before Will even hit the water. Saturday, August 6, 1982 was the day Willy was born. He turned 29 at the 2011 Malibu Open and took the title as his gift.

Not only did this World Champion slalom skier turn a year older, he also won the Malibu Open for the second time in two years. Now that's a great day! Way to go Will! We're proud to be pulling for you!

Check out the GRTW Gallery on WakeWorld.com to see all of the photos from the event.

The third installment of this ladies-only event went off at beautiful Lake McClure outside of Merced, California this past weekend and it was a huge success. Multiple sets behind awesome Malibu boats, winch and rail riding in the swimming lagoon (with plenty of awestruck onlookers), a huge raffle (everyone was WINNING!), a Sunday morning wakesurf session… too much fun to list. We had attendees from all over the West Coast, from SoCal to Seattle, and of all ages, from 9 to 49. Congrats to our Girls Ride Surprise Prize winner, Joan Campbell of Vancouver, Washington, who picked up her choice of any 2012 Hyperlite Biolite wakeboard for really showing the Girls Ride spirit.

It takes so many people to pull off an event smoothly, so a huge thanks to all of our drivers, sponsors, support crew and coaches: LF’s Shelby Kantar and Danni Petraitis, CWB’s Shawna Hoffman and Andrea Ensminger and Hyperlite’s Lindsey Sloatman, Kathryn Medina, Nataly Conner and Tori Lovelace. Without you, none of this would have been possible. Everyone have a great rest of the season and be prepared for a killer GRTW 2012!

New Ski Boat to Debut at Malibu Open

Malibu Boats (@MalibuBoats) plans to introduce the world to the new Response TXi at the Malibu Open in Milwaukee, WI August 5th & 6th, 2011.

The “T” in Response TXi is for “Tournament”, so it is only right that this pro slalom skier’s dream be introduced on the waters of the world’s most competitive Waterski Championships. The Malibu Open is going off at Veteran’s Park Lagoon in Milwaukee, WI August 5-6, 2011. It is here that the new Malibu Response TXi will be pulling world champs and world record breakers to big performances. Of course, even if you’re only competition is yourself, the Response TXi will bring out your best. The 2011 Malibu Open is your chance to get a first look at your next ski boat. See you there!

Built on the new T Cut Diamond Hull, the TXi tames the flow of water behind the boat at speeds and line lengths from pro to beginning levels. World Champions like Thomas Degasperi and Will Asher as well as World Record Holders like Regina Jaquess have trained with the Response TXi. Look for crowd pleasing performances out of these Malibu athletes along with an entire field of world-class water sports royalty.

At the Malibu Open the world’s top professional water ski athletes will compete in traditional slalom and long-distance jumping for $65,000 in prize money. Free-style jumping, barefoot skiing, hydrofoil, show ski and trick flip demonstrations round out the exciting two day event, which is open and free to the public.

Malibu Boats’ National Promo Director, Dennis Kelley, had plenty to say about the debut of the TXi at the Malibu Open. “This move is a real statement about the confidence we have in our engineering and design.” Kelley continued, “The introduction of this boat is almost as extreme as its performance. We are putting the TXi in a position to pull record-breaking runs in front of tens of thousands of people on a World stage. If that doesn’t tell you just how excited we are about this boat, I don’t know what will.”

Malibu builds boats to take you to that next level in your water sports performance whether that is breaking a record or simply standing up a free skiing pass. From the record-breaking waters of the Malibu Open to your family’s next day on the lake, the new Response TXi will provide the perfect pull every time.

The Malibu Open is a free event for family, friends and all to enjoy. Visit the Malibu Open in person, tune in to the live webcast or simply stop by your nearest Malibu Boats dealer and learn the truth about the TXi on the water. Euler Family's New Wakesetter

This Malibu Boats (@MalibuBoats) photo was sent to us from our Customer Service Manager Kerri Johns at our TN factory. The Euler Family Chasitie, Roger, Caleb and Lauren recently took a factory tour with Kerri and this is what they had to say. “A few weeks ago my husband and children took a personal tour of the Malibu Tennessee plant with you. We have been talking about the tour ever since we have came back home and have a greater respect and understanding of the quality construction of our new Wakesetter 23 LSV. We appreciate the individual time you spent with us and answering our questions. It was one of the highlights of our vacation. We were happy the weather came around and we were able to use our new boat at Lake Norris. Thank you for your time, the great t-shirts, and stickers!”

Thank you Kerri and Euler Family for sharing your experience and photo with us!

Wakesetter-head!

Malibu Boats (@MalibBoats) just received this great photo from Ryan Peak. Ryan is becoming one with the Malibu Wakesetter by cutting the "WS" logo into his hair. All of this is in preparation for the Boston INT Stop (@INTLeague) this weekend. Ryan trains and will be competing behind the VLX in an INT League Event. Ryan's uncle, Mark Portuondo, purchased this Wakesetter VLX wakeboard boat from longtime Malibu Dealer East Coast Flightcraft. Maybe Ryan is using his new hair cut to psych out the competition and give himself an edge. Either that or he just thought it would get his picture on the Malibu Boats web sites. Ha! Either way we're pulling for you Ryan! Good luck this weekend! Thanks for sharing!

Malibu in A Whole New Ball Game

Malibu Boats (@MalibuBoats) entered into a whole new ball game this past July. We literally got into the ball game or the program for it at least. A Malibu Boats ad appeared in program for the MLB All Star Game that took place in Phoenix, AZ on July 12, 2011.

Now we like to think that water sports is America's favorite pastime, but this year we actually had the opportunity to be a part of America's favorite pastime. The MLB All Star Game showcases the who's who in professional baseball talent today and the associated program does that in even more detail. Stories about the players, the game and the fans fill this thick magazine. It's a coveted publication and a baseball fan's encyclopedia.

The ad featured our heavy-hitting wakeboard boat, the Malibu Wakesetter VLX, along with a Microsoft Tag linked to a VLX video. The ad appeared on page 237 and just happens to be in the middle of one of the coolest stories in the program, maybe in all of baseball. It's an article about the 3000 hit club the fact that New York Yankee, Derek Jeter is the newsest member.

We were honored to be a part of such a great event and publication. It's been a great summer! Congratulations to the National League, who won the game!
