Water sports industry manufacturers cast their votes for Skies Pier as a dealer/retailer who establishes favorable publicity and/or sales through unique advertising, consumer events, contests, competitions, drawings, or raffles. The event that pushed the Pier to the top spot for this WSIA Leadership Award was the King of Darkness night jump they put on this summer. This Skier’s Pier event debuted at Groveland Oaks County Park in Holly, MI on July 17, 2010. Professional water ski jumpers from around the world performed amazing jumps behind Malibu ski boats for a chance at the $20,000 purse. It was a huge success for the long-time Malibu Boats dealer.

When asked about this latest award, Co-owner of Skier’s Pier, Joe Wolf, had this to say. “Just like Malibu we like to set ourselves apart from the competition! It's really exciting to be singled out as hosting the best industry promotion of the year! Exactly what we wanted - bringing a unique high-energy format that kept people entertained with world class performances. Athletes, audience, and obviously the manufacturers thought we pulled it off!”

WSIA honored the water sports industry's best retailers and manufacturers with a variety of 2010 Leadership Awards for outstanding efforts in advertising, promotions, and branding. Skier’s Pier received the 2010 WSIA Best Promotion of the Year honor during the Wake Awards on Friday, September 10, 2010 at Surf Expo in Orlando, FL.
