Malibu's with Carwin Win or Lose

Malibu Boats (@MalibuBoats) Family member and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Shane Carwin (@ShaneCarwin) lost to Brock Lesnar last night in the UFC 116 Heavyweight Title Fight. But Malibu Boats is with Shane win or lose. Just like Team Malibu water sports athletes, Malibu Boats chose Shane based on much more than his ability to win. We are affiliated with Team Carwin (#TeamCarwin) because of Shane's integrity and commitment. He personifies the "Malibu Difference." His amazing performance as a fighter is a bonus. The blog post published by Shane on Shane-Carwin.com yesterday before the fight just proves heart and character can be just as powerful as victory.

Whatever happens tonight this feels right and I know it is in Gods hands now. My coaches and training partners have given me everything they could for this. The sacrifices have been made, the time put in and now it is time to put it all together.

This week has been a whirlwind I have found myself on TV shows I normally watch, endorsing products I usually drink, and being treated like a super star. The entire casino and strip is loaded with ads for UFC 116 it is amazing. The hotel room is larger then my first couple of homes and they even have poker tables with Brock and me on them. There is no doubt in my mind I a living the American Dream.

My Mom always told us if we work hard and do our best to earn what we want we will be blessed with more than we would ever need. As I look at my life I know that is true. I have an amazing family and I am married to an wonderful woman who is helping me raise my son and our daughter. My Mom, brothers and I are all enjoying the fruits of our labors. If you have a dream you need to be chasing it. You can make anything happen if you put in the effort and hard work.

Tonight it is not about winning a belt or being ranked number one in the Heavy Weight Division. Tonight is about two super talented big guys who have put a life time of work into being the very best they can be. Tonight all the hard work and sacrifices comes down to 25 minutes of war.

I am as ready as I have ever been. I feel ten years younger, I feel faster and stronger than I have ever been for a fight. I was maybe 80% healthy for 111 and usually I limp into the fights with some sort of injury. This is the best my shape my mind and body have been in on fight day.

I am honored that Lesnar would give me the chance. It takes a real man to face the very best after a long lay off. Brock doesn’t seem to take any short cuts and I expect to see the very best Brock Lesnar ever tonight. He is a tough fight for anyone and holds the one thing that all of us fighters int he division are hunting for, the UFC strap.

Whatever happens tonight the winner will be faced with one of the most stacked Heavyweight Divisions ever and absolute beast like Cain, Dos Santos, etc are working hard or waiting for their shot. It is an exciting time to be a part of the UFC heavyweight Division.

Malibu Dealers Announce Ladies Day Events

While many female Malibu boaters (@MalibuBoats) are seasoned veterans on the water, the confidence and skill they possess did not happen on it’s own. They were taught and in many cases by a Malibu Boats Dealer. A group of dealers have been so successful teaching ladies proper Malibu boat operation they have established annual events just for this purpose. These Ladies Day events are not only informative, they are a boatload of fun and there are no boys allowed in class. In Malibu boats girls learn to drive, dock and trailer at many of these events. Some dealers also teach women how to pull a rider and/or skier. And some Ladies Day events take it a step further teaching the gals to wakeboard. Malibu Boats Dealers are patient and accustomed to training men and women on a regular basis. They know how to break down the functions of a Malibu boat and teach them thoroughly, but simply without any pressure. These are classes designed for groups of women so no one is on their own. The girls will learn together and have a boatload of fun in the process.

The event’s activities depend on the dealer, but many of them focus on basic boat driving including docking, general driving and loading the boat on a trailer. Some dealers will also teach the tricks to pulling someone; a rider, skier and/or tuber. Still other women’s events like the one offered by Girls Ride the Wake (@GirlsRideWake) in cooperation with Northern California Malibu Boats Dealer Larson Marine, focus on teaching girls to wakeboard and improving their riding through professional athlete instruction.

Some Malibu Boats Dealers have been hosting Ladies Day events for years. Rob Falgout, owner of Central Texas Water Sports, explained the motive behind his Ladies Day event in Austin, TX. “We heard that some of our female customers weren’t comfortable driving, docking, pulling riders, etc. They would tell us they’d love to be able to go out during the week when their significant other is at work, but didn’t think they could do it. We thought that was such a shame. It’s summertime, the kids are out of school, you have brand new boat, but you’ll only use it on the weekends because you have to have the ‘man of the house’ to use the boat? No, that’s just not acceptable.”

While each Malibu Dealer’s Ladies Day event is unique, the common denominator is fun! They want to help all of the women have fun on the day of the event as well as in their Malibu boats for years to come. Wakesetter VLX Honored for Excellent Design

Malibu Boats (@MalibuBoats) will be receiving a 2nd consecutive Excellence in Design Award from Trailer Boats Magazine. This year the judges were stunned by the design of the 2010 Wakesetter VLX. Malibu was selected as the winner in the Wakeboard Boat category after a detailed evaluation process completed by the industry’s top boat design engineers. This latest industry award represents Malibu Boats 28th received for product excellence and the second award bestowed on the Wakesetter VLX wakeboard boat just this year.

In 2009 the Malibu Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V was chosen for the Excellence in Design award. Although the 2010 Wakesetter VLX has big shoes to fill, it will be featured in January the issue of Trailer Boats Magazine as well as on TrailerBoats.com.

All the first of their kind, these designs have changed the water sports industry. The new Illusion G3 Tower is standard on the VLX and also poised to change boat building forever. This wakeboard tower is designed with gas spring assist to create an easy one-person fold-down in seconds. Malibu’s SV23 Wake Hull design also played a part in securing the Excellence in Design honor by creating big pro-level wakes while optimizing ride and handling. Then factor in the look of the VLX with its Corvette inspired cove in the hull and the aggressive lines that scream performance even on the trailer. The interior design is something out of a luxury sports car, but Malibu Boats designers have not compromised storage room or comfort for this look and feel. The design excellence of the 2010 Wakesetter VLX goes on and on.

The Isners Help Dad Land a Backroll and a Malibu Boat for Christmas

Inspired by the Malibu Boat Rockin' Christmas Event, we thought we could put you into the Christmas spirit by sharing some fun Malibu Christmas stories. We are posting owner accounts of amazing Christmas surprises that started with a Malibu boat and ended with extremely happy families.

The first of these Malibu Boats Christmas tales takes place in Washington State just before the Christmas of 2007. The Isner family visited Bake's Marine, their local Malibu Boats dealer, to take their '04 Sunscape 21 LSV to be winterized. When Joe and Kim Isner dropped their boat off they noticed the new 2008 Malibu boats in the Bake's showroom. They were all over the Wakesetter 23 LSV checking out every addition and advancement Malibu had made since their boat was made. The Isner girls, Devon 14 and Kendall 12, loved the added room. But Dad Joe was day dreaming about the coveted backroll he had been trying to land. He just knew the 23 LSV would give him the wake he knew he needed to get it done.

"My husband was giddy when he learned about the ballast tanks and was convinced he would be able to land his backroll with a wake like that!" Kim recalled.

So Kim and Joe sat down with Bake's Marine Sales Manager Matt Cour and looked at the numbers. Although Joe was excited, he wanted to think about it. He knew he wanted to get a new boat this year, but wanted to think about it just the same.

It was after Joe's excited display that Kim, Kendall and Devon began planning the biggest and best Christmas surprise ever for the man in their lives. Kim called Matt back and let him know she wanted to surprise Joe with the 23 LSV for Christmas. Matt suggested Bake's keep the boat until just before the big day so Joe didn't catch wind of their plans. So after the deal was made the boat stayed at the dealership until then.

Kim had a friend of the family pick the boat up a few days before Christmas. Matt had ordered a special big red bow online and made sure Kim's friend had that and the boat ready for the big surprise.

The family friend dropped the boat off in the Isner's driveway at around 11am on Christmas morning. The whole family was inside opening gifts. When the last present had been opened, so Joe thought, the girls lead him outside. He couldn't believe what he saw there in front of the house. It was a 2008 Wakesetter 23 LSV complete with a huge red bow. Do you think he saw himself completing that backroll too?

Joe was completely surprised. Kim's plan was a huge success and they have been enjoying their Wakesetter all summer.

Kim informed us. "And my husband finally landed his backroll!"

We asked Kim how she justified such a large purchase, especially as a Christmas gift. She had this to say, "I consider it a great investment, especially considering the fun and memories we have shared with our family and friends."

Kim also said this about her Malibu experience, "We have had such a wonderful experience with Bakes Marine in Issaquah. This is the second Malibu boat we have purchased from them and their customer service from sales to maintenance is fabulous. Matt Cour was key in helping the kids and I pull off this surprise for my husband complete with a huge red bow he purchased! He helped us customize the boat to meet our needs. He and service manager, Paul Gregoire, answered all of my questions regarding accessories or which line to buy for our new surfboard!"
