The 10th Malibu Open Water Ski & Wakeboard Championships got under way Friday in White Lake, Mich. The event runs through Sunday. Bad weather plagued Friday's opening round, resulting in the qualifying round of men's jumping being canceled. All men's jumpers will now compete in Saturday's elimination round. World water ski records have been broken at seven of the nine previous Malibu Open events. Male athletes are competing in slalom, jumping and wakeboarding, and female athletes are competing in slalom and wakeboarding.
Results will be posted on the USA Water Ski Web site as soon as they become available throughout the weekend.
