Funny Malibu Decal Stories

For the past couple of Mondays Malibu Boats (@MalibuBoats) has given away a Malibu Monday Prize to get the Malibu Nation off to a great week. This past Monday we decided to give away a Stainless Malibu Boats Emblem. The winner of the emblem would have to share a fun Malibu vehicle decal story. We posted the Malibu Monday Prize details on Facebook, Twitter and TheMalibuCrew.com. We asked Malibu boats enthusiasts to post their stories and/or photos in these areas. Check out the Malibu Facebook Fan Page and this thread on TheMalibuCrew.com for a look at some of the responses. There are some pretty good ones. In fact we had two hilarious stories that we couldn't choose between so we actually ended up giving away two Stainless Malibu Boats Emblems.

Winner #1: Levi Clarke (Malibu Crew Member)
There isn't a Malibu dealership around where I live. So when I see one I HAVE to stop. My wife and I were headed down to North Carolina and we swung into a dealership. I'm pretty sure it was in Mass (East Coast Flightcraft), but I'm not 100%sure. I bought a Malibu decal, a pretty big one for my wifes TSX. I borrowed a tape measure and soap pen from one of the techs out back. I spent about 15 mins marking up the rear window of the car to make sure it was centered and level. (I know I'm a little nuts)

I finally stick the thing on, peel off the transfer, take a step back and admire my handy work. At that exact moment I noticed 2 things at once.

1) Someone had put Mass plates on my VT car???

2) Some woman is walking at me like she owns my car??

Holy crap, I just spent 20 mins putting a sticker on someone elses Silver TSX!

Worst part about it, the lady says to me "Thanks" and burns outta the parking lot!

A few years ago, I was coming out of a movie theater headed toward my SUV when I heard someone say "You got a Malibu?". I turned and noticed this guy standing next to his truck parked a couple spaces down. He asked me that q...uestion because of the Malibu decal on the back window of my SUV. I replied "I have the best boat on the planet, do you know them?". Turns out he had a Response and we talked about Bu's for a minute or so. The whole time we talked this guy looked really familiar, but I couldn't place him. As we were wrapping it up we shook hands. I told him my name, and he told me his. That's when it hit me. He was a proctologist that I had seen a few months earlier, for an "issue" I had. Out of context I didn't recognize him. Needless to say the last time we saw each other we weren't "shaking hands". This awkward moment wouldn't have happened without my proudly displayed Malibu Boats decal on the back window of my SUV. :-)

Malibu Blanket Winner is...

We have chosen Malibu Boats (@MalibuBoats) Facebook Fan Michael Berzins as the blanket winner. We found this one-of-kind Malibu Boats blanket last week and decided it needed to be in the hands of the Malibu Boats fan with the best reason for needing it. We offered it up to our Twitter Followers and Facebook Fans and the reasons began pouring in. We received some great responses. Some funny, some moving, some practical, some Malibu prideful and some short but sweet. We chose the case Michael made for the blanket for several reasons. 1.) Michael asked for the blanket for a friend. We liked the idea of the blanket being given as a thoughtful gift. 2.) Maybe in some small way the blanket can help Micheal's buddy heal or at the very least make him smile and think of days in his Malibu boat. 3.) Micheal has a great Facebook Profile Photo! Pink is his color. Lol!

I need that blanket to give to a buddy of mine (who also owns a Malibu) who recently hit a tree while snowboarding. He is still in ICU at St. Charles Hospital in Bend, OR. When he finally gets to come home he is gonna have a lot of sitting around (and healing) to do. That blanket would make the healing process a little less painful. Every year, the Purdue Waterski Team host an Alumni Tournament (Current team vs Alumni). At the tourney, all the Alumni participate in an auction which the students put together. This auctions is the largest contribution (around 4 grand) for this team that gets them thier boat lease (a Malibu Response from Poncies Watersports in IN) every season... See More. My number one reason to my girlfriend why I had to buy a Wakesetter last year... "Babe, its got a heater, a hot water shower, and a plexiglass windscreen." My old boat had none of these awesome features, and when boating on a river in Canada you definitely need these options! Malibu Boats "Broad" Trip July 31 - August 2

Malibu Boats Team and Event Director, Lani Farmer and Malibu Boats Marketing Manager, Amy Mauzy, are leaving their factory posts in California to travel to Wake Jam in Portland and then to the Malibu Pro Team Challenge Event in Seattle this weekend (July 31 - August 2). Two ladies having fun and representing the Malibu Family in the Northwest. That's why they named it the "Malibu Broad Trip". They'll be tweeting, facebooking, blogging, flickring and vlogging the whole time. Whether they're boarding the plane, meeting boat owners, talking to pro athletes before their runs or chillaxing at the after parties, they'll be posting their experiences online. Stay tuned!!! With these two Malibu Boats peeps out and about we're guaranteed to hear and see some funny moments.

Malibu Fav Pic Submission for August: Fogged In VTX

Here's a Fav Pic submission we received for August. We came across this sweet shot in one of the Malibu Boats facebook friend's albums. Amy and Chad Gordon took this shot on the maiden voyage of their new 08 Malibu Boats Wakesetter VTX. They were spending the 4th of July at Kerr Lake in North Carolina.

According to Amy's e-mail, "We literally picked it up Wednesday night and left Friday morning for 10 days at Kerr Lake." Amy continued, "Cause who can be at the lake for 10 days without a Malibu?"

Amy took this photo when the fog rolled in one morning during their vacation on Kerr Lake. The fog cut Chad's morning wakeboard set short, but it did make for a pretty sweet photo.
