Malibu Boats Chubby Bunny

Malibu Boats (MalibuBoats) does not recommend you try this face stuffing feat, but that didn't stop Trever Maur from shoving as many marshmallows in his mouth as he could. Shot during some downtime at the 2012 Malibu Boats Photo Shoot, Trever decided to take the left over marshmallows from the camp fire shot we had just fished to do his best Chubby Bunny impression. The object of this stunt is to fill your mouth with marshmallows and say "Chubby Bunny" after each addition. Check it out! It's a crack-up!

Thanks to everyone to who has helped at this year's photo shoots. We had a blast and got some great photos that will posted online soon. Thanks to our photographer Tom King and Robert Snow for shooting the Chubby Bunny video. And Thanks to Trever for the spur-of-the-moment entertainment. The Chubby Bunny video continues to provide great comic relief.

Malibu Goes 3D in 2011

Malibu Boats (@MalibuBoats ) introduces the 3-discipline Wakesetter VTX for boarding, surfing and skiing.

Malibu Boats, long regarded for their incredible performance versatility has raised the bar once again with the 2011 Wakesetter 3DVTX. Founded on the Cut Diamond hull and equipped with the exclusive Power Wedge and quad ballast system the 3DVTX does what no other boat has come close to accomplishing. It has achieved world class levels in the most diverse disciplines in water sports – Slalom, Wake and Surfing. If your family loves to be together but has divided interests in water sports the 3DVTX could be the answer for you. Visit your local Malibu Dealer or 2011 Boat Show to get a sneak peak and set up your personal demo ride.

Additional Information

The Malibu Wakesetter VTX is known for big wakes and big comfort in a 20-foot package, but thanks to Malibu’s versatile Cut Diamond hull there’s another side to this wakeboard boat. Malibu hesitates to call the VTX a crossover because they don’t feel that label does it justice. Typically the crossover designation insinuates you are giving up specific professional level performance in exchange for average versatility. That is not the case with the VTX.

The 3DVTX is designed to give you the optimum slalom wake with the ability to supremely displace the hull. There is no compromise in the wake or surf disciplines. This boat helps you excel no matter what your water sports passion. Malibu Boats has pushed the limits of the cross over to another dimension with the 3DVTX.

Darwitz Goes For Olympic Hockey Gold Thursday

Malibu Boat (@MalibuBoats) owner and USA Women's Hockey Team Captain, Natalie Darwitz skates for gold with her team on Thursday against Canada. All of Malibu Boats will be cheering her on along with her friends at Minnesota Inboard (@MNInboard) where she purchased her Wakesetter VTX.

We met Natalie back in October 2008 when she gave an interview to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. She said this in her interview, "I'd like to live on a lake and have a Malibu boat out front. That's my dream boat. I like to ski and wakeboard in the summer."

Well in late Summer 2009, Natalie's dream of owning a Malibu boat came true. She purchased a Wakesetter VTX from award-winning Malibu Boats Dealer Minnesota Inboard.

Good luck Natalie and Team USA Women's Hockey! We will be watching and rooting for you all Thursday!

Cool Malibu Sunset on the Desert

Malibu Owners Carol & Steve CuttingCarol & Steve Cutting submitted this Malibu (@malibuboats) Sunset shot as a FavPic candidate for September. This photo was taken as they were headed to Lake Powell in Utah with their 2001 Malibu Sunsetter LXI from their home in Manhattan Beach, CA. The shot was taken near Torrey, Utah.

The cuttings also sent us a couple fun photos of their dog Ariel in their new 2008 Wakesetter VTX. Ariel is a Chocolate Lab who loves their Malibu. Carol wrote, "Just ask if she wants to go in the boat and she heads to the garage."

Since the Cuttings now own a 2008 Wakesetter VTX. The Sunsetter in this great sunset photo is now owned by Carol's brother and his family.

Visit the Malibu Boats Flickr.com site to see more of the Cutting's Malibu photos.

Carol signed her email to us this way, "We are definitely a Malibu family. Love you guys."

Thanks Carol! We are so happy to have you a part of the family. Keep the photos coming. They're great!

Malibu Owner Natalie Darwitz Talks About Winter Olympics

Check out Malibu Boats Wakesetter VTX owner Natalie Darwitz on the Going for the Gold Vodcast for August 7th. Natalie Darwitz discusses her challenges heading into the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver as the captain of TEAM USA Hockey.

Natalie Darwitz recently purchased a Wakesetter VTX from award-winning Malibu Boats Dealer Minnesota Inboard and according to Natalie this Malibu boat is a dream come true. We blogged about a interview Natalie gave last October to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Why was Malibu Boats blogging about a female Olympic Hockey Player, well she was quoted as saying, "I'd like to live on a lake and have a Malibu boat out front. That's my dream boat. I like to ski and wakeboard in the summer." Well we had to post something about such an amazing statement. This year Natalie's dream came true. We hope her other dream of a 2010 Olympic Hockey Gold comes true too.

Team Liquid Force Wins Malibu Pro Team Challenge

The 3rd Annual Pro Team Challenge wakeboard competition presented by Monster Energy Drink and Malibu Boats took place Sunday, August 3rd at the Bow Lake Watersports Complex just North of Seattle, Washington. The site was beautiful and the weather was epic as two of the sport's premiere teams got set to battle head-to-head for a chance to take home the Malibu Cup Trophy and bragging rights as the best team in wakeboarding for the next 12 months. Team Liquid Force reigned supreme!

Check out the Malibu Pro Team Challenge photo gallery on WakeWorld.com.

New to the competition this year was the addition of wakeskating to the line-up. Also, the wakeboarding discipline was revised from a traditional contest pass to a more rider friendly freeride format. The rail jam discipline featured three obstacles; a 60-foot A-Frame, an 80-foot rooftop rail and the 50-foot Monster Energy C-Rail.

The event featured two-time defending champions Team Hyperlite led by the Bone Crusher, Rusty Malinoski. Rusty was joined by teammates Jimmy LaRiche and Jacob Valdez on wakeboard and Team Malibu's Brian Grubb holding things down on wakeskate. They were gunning for the 3-peat and they rode hard to defend their title against the challengers on Team Liquid Force. Team Malibu's Kevin Henshaw was the Team Captain for LF and he was joined by the always-animated Bob Soven and the face of wakeboarding in the Pacific Northwest - Mike Ennen. James Balzer was their wakeskater as they set their sights on de-throning the Champs.

The event kicked-off at around 11am with the wakeskate competition and Balzer was the first competitor to hit the water. Each rider would get two five-minute runs and would be judged on their best of the two. The conditions were perfect and the crowd was ready to see some pro-level skating. Balzer did not disappoint with a smooth run that included a clean wake-to-wake H/S Backside 180, T/S Backside 180 and several Indy shuv-its. Next up was Team Hyperlite's Brian Grubb, who Rides for Malibu Boats, the winningest skater in the history of the sport and always a threat to take down any competition he enters. Grubb was in his element behind the Malibu wakeboard boat that pulled the competition.

After the wakeskate competition, Malibu Boats pro team rider Chad Sharpe, who was driving the event, strapped on his board to ride for the crowd as we dialed in the tournament boat for the wake competition. Next up was the wakeboard freeride session and all of the riders were amped to show the enthusiastic Northwest crowd their best stuff. With each rider getting a five-minute run and no-limit or point deductions on falls, there was no holding back. The format gave each rider an opportunity to reach deep into their bag of tricks and try things normally not pulled out in a regular contest run. Bob Soven was the first rider to hit the lake and he opened his run with a HUGE one-handed Raley while pointing directly at the crowd…the crowd loved it!

Malibu Fav Pic Submission for August: Fogged In VTX

Here's a Fav Pic submission we received for August. We came across this sweet shot in one of the Malibu Boats facebook friend's albums. Amy and Chad Gordon took this shot on the maiden voyage of their new 08 Malibu Boats Wakesetter VTX. They were spending the 4th of July at Kerr Lake in North Carolina.

According to Amy's e-mail, "We literally picked it up Wednesday night and left Friday morning for 10 days at Kerr Lake." Amy continued, "Cause who can be at the lake for 10 days without a Malibu?"

Amy took this photo when the fog rolled in one morning during their vacation on Kerr Lake. The fog cut Chad's morning wakeboard set short, but it did make for a pretty sweet photo.

Thank you for submitting this picture, Amy! It's beautiful! We will add it to the photos we are choosing from for the Malibu Boats favorite pic for the month of August.

If you capture or come across a cool Malibu Boats-related photo let us know. We would love to post it here as well as on the Malibu Boats Blog and Flickr Channel. We will even Tweet about it on Twitter. E-mail blog@malibuboats.com with links and/or images.
