Malibu Boats (@MalibuBoats) hosted their annual dealer meeting in North Lake Tahoe, Nevada, where more than 60 Malibu Dealers were recognized for their achievements during the 2010 model year.
Among the towering Redwood trees in North Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Malibu dealers stood tall and were recognized for their outstanding efforts during the 2010 model year. Malibu Boats hosted an enthusiastic group of more than 230 at the 2010 Malibu Boats Dealer Meeting. Attendees ranged from dealership owners and administration to sales people and other employees, many of who were honored for the Malibu Difference they have created in their area.
Malibu’s annual awards banquet is the perfect end to several days of speakers and seminars designed to prepare dealers for the upcoming boat show season. The dealers are honored for their accomplishments and role they play in Malibu Boats success.

Performance. You might expect a 24-foot 7-inch luxury water sports boat with room for 17 to be a challenge to handle: not if it’s a Malibu. Precise electronic throttle and shift join fingertip steering for effortless flat turning. Built on a hull optimized for a smooth ride and precision handling, the Sunscape 247 is as nimble as it is a wake maker.
Whether your brand of wake is of the flat, soft variety or you prefer huge, rampy water for launching, the 247 LSV can accommodate. The hull design is three-pronged. The MTC projective capacitive touch screen combined with the new Italian-made Isotta Vista Steering Wheel, the available MaliView Dash System and the optional Rockford Fosgate Stereo touch pad are just a few of the heroes on this dash. Now consider the functionality they deliver and it’s almost unbelievable. The dash offers intuitive control over nearly all of the boat’s functions with Malibu first’s like Rider Presets combining this control in customizable rider profiles. MaliView and the Rockford Fosgate Sound System have been upgraded for 2011 to include USB video playback and increased iPod®/iPhone® control. Malibu Touch Command. The new Malibu Touch Command (MTC) is amazing on so many different levels; what it is, what it does and the fact that it is standard on all Sunscapes including the new 247 LSV. Made with Projective Capacitive Touch Technology typically reserved for high-end personal digital devices, you won’t find a feature like MTC in a high performance car let alone anywhere else in the boating industry. Malibu Boats is way ahead of the game with touch-sensitive switching based on intuitive hi-res graphical menus of the boat’s functions. Command ballast control, Wedge adjustment, interior lighting, coded keyless ignition, available GPS navigation and more through Malibu Touch Command.
Ignition. Forget the keys. Go ahead. You won’t need them in your 2011 Sunscape 247 LSV. All Malibu Sunscapes have keyless ignition standard. Type in your code; touch the “Start Engine” icon and motor. No more worries about getting to the lake and forgetting the keys. Malibu’s got you covered.
Power. Because Malibu powers boats with standard engines that are built specific and anything but standard, the new L96 6.0L makes its home in the new 247 LSVs. With 410 horsepower this Indmar engine pulls every water sport you’re into with 400 foot-pounds of torque. Low-end power or top-end speed, the L96’s Variable Valve Timing (VVT) automatically adjusts giving you the absolute best performance in either situation. If you’re looking to upgrade your 247 power Malibu offers the Supercharged LSA 6.2L. This 550 horsepower engine tops Malibu’s list of engine options as the first production supercharged Gen-IV small block engine the marine industry has ever seen. With 545 ft-lb of torque the LSA doesn’t mess around.
Interior. Malibu engineers created a cab-forward design to increase the lounge area by 30% more than any other boat in its class. And while a lot of attention has been paid to the common seating area of the Sunscape 247 LSV, the bow and new transom seating is just as comfortable and roomy as any other spot. The bow transforms into a playpen with the addition of the removable filler cushion. The new rear-facing transom seating provides a comfortable front row seat complete with convenient cup holders and more swimstep-accessible wet storage. Available 8” Rockford Fosgate M2 full-range speakers add the perfect amount of punch to the Sunscape 247 LSV. While many female Malibu boaters (@MalibuBoats) are seasoned veterans on the water, the confidence and skill they possess did not happen on it’s own. A group of dealers have been so successful teaching ladies proper Malibu boat operation they have established annual events just for this purpose. These Ladies Day events are not only informative, they are a boatload of fun and there are no boys allowed in class. In Malibu boats girls learn to drive, dock and trailer at many of these events. Malibu Boats Dealers are patient and accustomed to training men and women on a regular basis. They know how to break down the functions of a Malibu boat and teach them thoroughly, but simply without any pressure. These are classes designed for groups of women so no one is on their own. The girls will learn together and have a boatload of fun in the process.
The event’s activities depend on the dealer, but many of them focus on basic boat driving including docking, general driving and loading the boat on a trailer. Some dealers will also teach the tricks to pulling someone; a rider, skier and/or tuber. Still other women’s events like the one offered by Girls Ride the Wake (@GirlsRideWake) in cooperation with Northern California Malibu Boats Dealer Larson Marine, focus on teaching girls to wakeboard and improving their riding through professional athlete instruction.
Some Malibu Boats Dealers have been hosting Ladies Day events for years. Rob Falgout, owner of Central Texas Water Sports, explained the motive behind his Ladies Day event in Austin, TX. “We heard that some of our female customers weren’t comfortable driving, docking, pulling riders, etc. They would tell us they’d love to be able to go out during the week when their significant other is at work, but didn’t think they could do it. We thought that was such a shame. It’s summertime, the kids are out of school, you have brand new boat, but you’ll only use it on the weekends because you have to have the ‘man of the house’ to use the boat? No, that’s just not acceptable.”

Malibu Boats wants to give back to boat owners who further the Malibu Difference. The My Life My Boat Movement was born from this goal. These owners promote Malibu Boats and water sports by exhibiting truth on the water. Many of them also selflessly support their communities and their country. This is why Malibu wants to reward them with some well-deserved exposure. Malibu will shine a light on the passions that make up these dedicated owners’ lives on and off the water in an effort to give back to them. Malibu Boats is committing to publicize charities, businesses, events and people dear to the hearts of select Malibu boat owners through digital media as a way of saying thank you.
Just like the words “My Life” come first in the My Life My Boat movement title, Malibu Boats is putting the lives of their family of boat owners first. The World’s No. 1 selling water sports boat manufacturer is dimming the spotlight on Malibu Boats and shinning it on the customers that have helped elevate this boat brand to the top. But the focus of this attention will not be restricted to water sports or Malibu Boats related subjects. Malibu Boats wants to give back to these ambassadors of the Malibu Difference by bringing some exposure and promotion to the passions in their lives, water-related or not.
2009 Malibu Wakesetter VLX owner, Attila Tassi loves to boat and is an amazing mouthpiece for Malibu Boats, but his true passion lies with helping others. Tassi is the founder of Horton’s Heroes, a organization he formed to support injured service personnel undergoing therapy at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda Naval Hospital; to try to bring some sense of normalcy to their lives; to show these men and women that people do care. Malibu Boats would like to reward Tassi for his dedication to United States Service Men and Women by drawing more attention to Horton’s Heroes through the use of the Malibu Boats digital and social media channels.
Monthly, beginning January 2010, Malibu Boats will feature a Malibu boat owner as a part of the My Life My Boat movement. Each month will begin with a new Malibu boat owner story added to the Malibu Boats Blog detailing the passions in these individuals’ lives. This blog post will accompany a national news release as well as photos displayed on Malibu Boats Flickr.com and/or video posted on Malibu’s YouTube Channel. Malibu Boats will fill the month with regular tweets about the My Life My Boat honoree along with facebook status and event updates. Malibu Boat has also carved out a section of their monthly e-newsletter to feature My Life My Boat feature boat owners. Malibu will also look for other ways to generate the maximum exposure for each My Life My Boat owner recognized.
Malibu dealers, partners, pro team members and employees are being given the opportunity to nominate boat owners they feel embody the Malibu Difference in the spirit of My Life My Boat. While Malibu Boats will not be able to honor every Malibu boat owner with My Life My Boat promotion, they hope to give as much back as they can to their family of owners through this movement.
